In this series, Jennifer Nauck beautifully executes the Italian technique of Encalmo. The name, in Venetian dialect literally means “graft” as in joining two parts. Two hot pieces of glass become one. Aesthetic simplicity belies the mastery required to achieve perfection in this merging of parts.
